IS ACTON A RELIGIOUS SCHOOL?

Is Acton Leadership Academy a Religious School?

A common question we hear is, "Is Acton Leadership Academy a religious school?" The simple answer is no, we are not. But as with most things at Acton, there’s more to the story.

An Excerpt From The Acton Leadership Academy

STATEMENT OF FAITH:

We believe that differences in culture, religion, political outlook, and family circumstances are divine opportunities to connect through our similarities, celebrate our unique differences, and learn from one another.

A Focus on Values, Not Doctrine

While Acton Leadership Academy is not affiliated with any religion, we do place a strong emphasis on moral character and living a value-centered life. Our heroes come from diverse religious and political backgrounds, and we celebrate that diversity. We believe that differences in culture, beliefs, and traditions are opportunities for deeper connection and learning.

How Religion is Addressed in Learning

Religion is sometimes mentioned in our discussions of history, philosophy, or cultural studies, but always within the context of its role in shaping societies. We do not promote any specific religious doctrine but strive to provide a space where all beliefs are respected and valued.

Our Core Values

Rather than religious instruction, we focus on five key values that guide our learning community:

Meekness – Strength in humility and self-discipline

Integrity – Always choosing honesty and doing the right thing

Courage – Facing challenges with confidence and resilience

Curiosity – Cultivating a love for lifelong learning

Intentional Growth – Continually striving for self-improvement

As long as our heroes are living these values and working hard together, we believe we can all learn, grow, and thrive—regardless of personal beliefs or affiliations.

Our Statement of Faith

While Acton Leadership Academy is not a religious institution, we do have a statement of faith that reflects our commitment to unity and respect:

"We believe that religion is meant to unite, not divide. We believe that our differences in culture, religion, political outlook, and family circumstances are divine opportunities to connect in our similarities, celebrate our unique differences, and learn from one another. As such, we believe it is a parent's right, role, and responsibility to rear their children in love and to intentionally cultivate inclusive respect in their home, as we promise to do at Acton Leadership Academy."
